Tom McClain

 

Thomas “Tom” Lynn McClain, of Pocahontas, Arkansas, passed away at the Randolph County Nursing Home, on Monday, August 3, 2020. Tom was born on Saturday, December 16, 1944, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, to James and Edith Armstrong McClain.

Tom was a loving husband, son, father, brother, grandfather, neighbor, and friend. On September 7, 1973, Tom married the love of his life, Judy Morris. They were married for forty-six years and raised three wonderful daughters. Tom was also a long-time member of the Skaggs Church of Christ, in Pocahontas.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents, James and Edith Armstrong McClain; brothers, Charles, Fred, and Jim McClain; and sister, Katherine Bowtell.

Tom leaves behind his wife of forty-six years, Judy Morris McClain, of the home; three daughters, Nicole (Rainier Rics) McClain, of Atlanta, Georgia, Sara (Clay) Midyett, of Memphis, Tennessee, and Elizabeth (Matthew) Shelby, of Bentonville, Arkansas; three brothers, David (Margaret) McClain, of Tucson, Arizona, Tyler (Virginia) McClain, of Lexington, Tennessee, and Bill McClain, of England, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Ella and Kate Shelby, and, Ruby, McClain, and Samuel Midyett; and many other loved ones and friends.

All services will be held at the Skaggs Church of Christ, in Pocahontas, Arkansas. Visitation will be on Saturday, August 8, 2020, from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm. Tom’s funeral service will immediately follow beginning at 3:00 pm; Philip Hardy, officiating. Burial will follow in the Randolph Memorial Garden Cemetery.

The following individuals are honored to carry Tom to his final earthly resting place: Troy Smith, Dakota Smith, Skip Elders, Tommy Elders, and Buddy McClain.

Due to COVID-19 directives, issued by the Governor of Arkansas specifically for funeral services, the following will be required in order to attend the visitation and/or funeral service: wearing of a face mask, signing the contact registry, and maintaining all social distancing requirements.
