Mike and I go way back. He had a lot to do with convincing me to go to Oklahoma University with him and major in Engineering. Then he had a lot to do with convincing me to go to work at NASA in Houston where he was. We spent many good years together. He was a great man and friend. Sadly we had lost touch with each other but he will be missed.
I had a great visit with Mike at our last reunion. We went out to visit the grave of our mutual friend David Schultz. Of course, we never know when it will be our last time to see a friend or other loved one. That became real to me in a big way as a hospital/emergency department chaplain for 30 years. It was also a reminder for us to appreciate and savor even the briefest time we spend with those for whom we care.
Mike was a great friend that I wish I had been able to see more often as is true of many of my classmates. May God bless Mike's memory, and the family he leaves behind.
