Barry was a great part of my memories of high school!!  He was always so friendly, and had the sweetest smile that made you know he was glad to see you!!  He was a wonderful and talented ball player which helped a great deal in our winning the state championship in basketball our senior year!!  I really enjoyed dancing with him at parties, too!!  He had simple, but awesome dance moves!!!  After graduation, I didn't get to see him too much for I moved, but then when I moved back to Jonesboro, he was doing his coaching at JHS which is right where I had left him!!  He was still the friendly guy that I had always known!!  Thank you so much for all the great memories, Barry!!  We will miss you!!!  Sincerely, Sharon Standefer DeLoach

I agree with everything Sharon said. Barry remained the same kind and friendly person throughout his life.

Barry was one of the best.  He always had a friendly smile and a warm greeting.  He was a good friend to so many of us.  The next reunion will not be the same without him.

Barry was a good friend and I enjoyed being his playing ball with him and getting to know him as we grew up. He was always friendly and joyful in his life. Barry will certainly be missed in future reunions. I was proud to be his friend.

As our classmates exit this broken world, we are left to fill the gap of one that apparently had a positive influence on students and the Jonesboro community.  Blessings to his family.

Always had a positive comment about past or present relationships. It was a privilege to have been a friend of his. My condolences to the family for the loss of a great guy in many ways.

A sterling example as a mentor and tutor to young men.  Our community was most fortunate.

Barry was a very competitive player and is one of the reasons Jonesboro High won the State Championship.  Sad to hear about his death.  He will be missed.  His memory will stay alive due to all his many friends.
