Jeanne was my earliest close friend. We lived blocks away from each other and often met at the ball park on Cherry Street. Her mother and grandmother were supportive, caring and encouraging. During the elementary school years the three included me on a train trip to the newly opened Disneyworld and a campout near Eldorado AR. Jeanne was extraordinarily artistic and eclectic. I remember the mural she painted on her bedroom door. In 1978 I visited Jeanne and Don in Tulsa, OK. She headed the Symphony League and treated me to a luncheon at the Petroleum Club. I will fondly remember Jeanne's creative individuality.
